1. Getting Started
Create your account. Head to relayd.fm/register and sign up as a Label / PR. You'll need an email address and a password. Every new account gets a free promo credit so you can try the platform before committing to a plan.
Choose a plan. After registering you'll be asked to pick a subscription plan or buy a pay-as-you-go credit pack. You can always change your plan later from Settings. Each promo you send uses one credit.
Set up your label. Once inside your dashboard, go to Settings to add your label name, upload your logo, and pick a brand colour. This is what DJs will see when they receive your promos.
2. Your Dashboard
Your dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in. It gives you an overview of everything happening with your promos.
Stat cards. At the top you'll see four cards showing your total campaigns, DJ contacts, total plays, and feedback received. These update in real time.
Recent Campaigns. A quick list of your most recent sent campaigns with open rates, play counts and ratings at a glance.
Draft Campaigns. Any campaigns you've started but not yet sent will appear here so you can pick up where you left off.
Activity Feed. A live feed showing what DJs are doing with your promos - plays, downloads, feedback, ratings and more. You can filter by type to focus on what matters.
3. Managing DJ Contacts
Click DJ Contacts in the sidebar to manage your mailing list.
Adding DJs
Click the Add DJ button to add a single contact. Enter their name, email, and optionally assign tags (like "DJ", "Radio", "Press" or any custom tag).
Import from CSV
If you're moving from another platform, click Import CSV to bulk-import your contact list. Upload a CSV file and the system will map your columns automatically. You'll get a preview before confirming the import.
Tags
Tags help you organise your DJs into groups. For example, you might tag contacts as "DJ", "Radio", "VIP", or "Press". When creating a campaign you can filter your recipient list by tag so you send the right music to the right people.
To manage your tags, click the Manage Tags button. You can create new tags, rename them, or delete ones you no longer need.
Search & Filter
Use the search bar to find DJs by name, email or tag. The filter dropdown lets you show only Active, Inactive, Bounced, or specific tag groups. You can also click the stat cards at the top (Total, Active, Inactive) to quickly filter.
Edit & Delete
Hover over any DJ in the list to see edit and delete buttons. Click a DJ's name to open their detail view where you can see their full history of campaigns and feedback.
Bulk Actions
Use the checkboxes to select multiple DJs, then use the bulk action bar to tag, activate, deactivate, delete, or export them all at once.
Export
Click Export to download your DJ contacts as a CSV file. You can export your full list or just the DJs currently shown by your filter.
4. Creating a Campaign
A campaign is a promo you send to your DJs. Each campaign contains one or more tracks and goes out to a list of recipients.
Step 1 - Campaign Details
Click New Campaign to start. Fill in:
- Campaign Name - The name of the release (e.g. "Summer EP")
- Subject Line - What DJs see in their email inbox
- Message - A personal note or description about the release
- Genre - Choose the genre that best fits
- Catalogue Number - Your label's release code (optional)
- Release Date - When the music officially drops (optional)
- Artwork - Upload the release artwork (JPG or PNG)
- Allow Downloads - Toggle on to let DJs download the tracks
- Expiry Date - Optionally set a date after which the promo link stops working
Step 2 - Add Tracks
Upload your audio files. MP3, WAV and AIF formats are supported. For each track you can edit the title, artist name, genre, and individual artwork. Drag to reorder them.
Step 3 - Select Recipients
Choose which DJs should receive this promo. You can filter by tag or status, use Select All, or pick DJs individually. Only active DJs are included - any DJs who have unsubscribed or bounced are automatically excluded.
Step 4 - Review & Send
Check the summary: your artwork, tracks, recipient count and how many credits will be used. You can choose to:
- Send Now - Sends the promo immediately
- Schedule - Pick a future date and time
- Save as Draft - Come back and send later
Each campaign you send uses 1 credit, regardless of how many DJs or tracks are included.
5. Sending Your Promo
When you hit Send, emails go out in the background. You'll see a progress bar showing how many have been delivered. You can continue using the platform while it sends - you don't need to keep the page open.
What DJs Receive
Each DJ gets a personalised email with a unique link to your promo page. The promo page shows your artwork, message, and all tracks with a built-in audio player. DJs can listen, download (if enabled), and leave feedback directly on the page.
Follow-ups & Resends
After a campaign is sent, you can resend it to a specific subset of DJs. This is useful for chasing DJs who haven't opened or responded yet. Open the sent campaign, select the DJs you want to follow up with, and click Resend.
Scheduled Sends
When scheduling a campaign, it will automatically go out at the date and time you set. You can edit or cancel a scheduled campaign before it sends.
Bounces
If an email bounces (the address doesn't exist or the inbox rejects it), the DJ is automatically marked as inactive and won't receive future promos. You'll see bounce information in the recipients list for that campaign.
6. Tracking Results
Open any sent campaign to see detailed analytics.
Campaign Stats
- Opens - How many DJs opened the promo link
- Plays - Total track plays across all DJs
- Downloads - How many tracks were downloaded
- Feedback - Number of DJs who left a rating or comment
- Average Rating - The overall star rating from DJs
Per-Track Stats
Each track in your campaign has its own play count, download count, and average rating. This helps you see which tracks are getting the most attention.
Recipients List
View the full list of DJs who received the campaign. For each one you can see whether they opened it, when they opened, their rating, and any comments they left. You can also see bounces.
Activity Feed
The activity feed on your dashboard shows a real-time stream of all DJ interactions across all your campaigns - plays, downloads, feedback, and more.

Click Credits in the sidebar to view your balance and purchase more.
How Credits Work
Each campaign you send uses 1 credit, no matter how many DJs or tracks are included. Your credit balance is shown in the header at all times.

9. Tips & Best Practices
- Write a clear subject line. Keep it short and include the release name. DJs get a lot of emails - make yours easy to spot.
- Use tags to organise your DJs. Group them by genre, role (DJ, Radio, Press) or region. This lets you target the right contacts for each release.
- Add a personal message. A short note about the release goes a long way. Tell DJs what the music is about and why you're sending it to them.
- Upload quality artwork. A strong visual makes your promo stand out. Use a square image, at least 500×500px.
- Enable downloads. DJs who can download tracks are more likely to play them in their sets.
- Follow up. If DJs haven't opened after a few days, use the Resend feature to nudge them with a gentle reminder.
- Check your analytics. See which DJs are consistently engaging with your promos. These are your core supporters.
- Keep your list clean. Remove inactive or bounced contacts regularly. A smaller, engaged list is better than a large, unresponsive one.
